He is well known around the world, but his life was not smooth from the beginning.

そこで、もっと安やすく宇宙うちゅうへ行いける方法ほうほうを作つくろうとしました。

So he tried to create a less expensive way to reach space.

2002年ねん、SpaceXを作つくり、ロケットの開発かいはつを始はじめます。

In 2002, he founded SpaceX and began developing rockets.

しかし、ロケットを宇宙うちゅうへ飛とばすことは簡単かんたんではありません。

But sending a rocket into space is not easy.

The first launch failed.

二回目にかいめも成功せいこうしません。

The second attempt was unsuccessful as well.

The third attempt also failed.

三回続さんかいつづけて、ロケットを目的もくてきの場所ばしょまで飛とばすことができなかったのです。

Three times in a row, the rocket failed to reach its intended destination.

会社かいしゃのお金かねも少すこなくなっていました。

The company was also running out of money.

次つぎも失敗しっぱいすれば、開発かいはつを続つづけることが難むずかしくなる状況じょうきょうでした。

If the next attempt failed, continuing development would become difficult.

そして2008年ねん、四回目よんかいめの打うち上あげを行おこないます。
